what is knots?

KNOTS is a one-on-one subconscious reprogramming practice run by Jessica St John, for people who already know their story but still feel stuck in it. Using a unique blend of conversational hypnotherapy, subconscious reprogramming and breathwork, it gets underneath the belief your nervous system formed long before you had words for it. Not just talking about the thing. Actually shifting it.
what is conversational hypnotherapy?

Not what you're picturing. There's no swinging watch, no counting down, no losing control. Conversational hypnotherapy is a guided process where we use intentional conversation to access and shift the subconscious mind in real time. Your subconscious is running about 95% of your thoughts, reactions, and behaviours, often based on beliefs formed when you were really small. We go there together, gently, and update the story.
what happens in a session?

We meet on Zoom, just the two of us. You share what's been feeling heavy, stuck, or on repeat. I follow the thread beneath it using guided conversation, and sometimes breathwork. You don't need to prepare anything or have it all figured out. Most people feel a shift during the session itself, not weeks later. Sometimes we cry. Sometimes we laugh. Always, something moves.
Talk therapy tends to work at the conscious level, exploring, analysing, and building insight into your story. Coaching is about goals and action. KNOTS goes somewhere different. We're not analysing your story again. We're working with the part of you that created the story in the first place, and helping your nervous system experience something genuinely new.
How is this different from talk therapy or coaching?

KNOTS tends to resonate with people who can see their patterns clearly but cannot seem to stop repeating them. A lot of my clients have done the therapy, read the books, know their triggers, and are still stuck. People who are holding it together on the outside but quietly exhausted on the inside. If you want depth, not just a fresh perspective, you're probably in the right place.
What kinds of things can KNOTS help with?

The short answer: anything with a subconscious root. That includes relationship patterns, self-worth, money blocks, anxiety, creative blocks, people-pleasing, perfectionism, fear of being seen, and that frustrating sense of being your own obstacle. The common thread is always a belief that formed early and has been quietly running things ever since. This type of work is sometimes called subconscious reprogramming or limiting belief work. Whatever you call it, the process is the same.
What is breathwork and why does it come into it?

Breathwork is a way of accessing the subconscious through the body rather than the mind. Sometimes conversation gets us where we need to go. Sometimes the breath does it faster, or takes us deeper. I use both intuitively depending on what each person and each session needs. Your system leads, I guide.
where do sessions happen?

Online, via Zoom. I'm based in Hobart, Tasmania, and practice online conversational hypnotherapy and breathwork with people all over Australia and internationally. All you need is somewhere quiet and a decent internet connection.
How many sessions will
I need?

Honestly, it depends on you and what you're working with. Some people have a single session and feel a profound, lasting shift. Others find that a 3-session package lets them go deeper and integrate more fully. I also offer a monthly container for ongoing, longer-term work.
